One customer even sent a letter to praise the grapes delivered by Ole Tyme Produce. Applegate Deli asked for more information to share with their clients, so with a few conversations and phone calls, the following article was sent out in an Applegate Deli customer newsletter. It is just one way that we go out of our way to provide the best product and customer services.

Why Applegate's grapes are sweeter, bigger, and firmer

In the San Joaquin Valley in California is a beautiful vineyard, where the sun is hot (sweeter insides), the nights are cold (firmer skins) and the best grapes in the world are grown.

Its name is Columbine Vineyards and it is owned and operated by Mila Caratan, a first generation Italian, whose vines were brought direct from the Old Country. He is a grape perfectionist - he grows delicious grapes, on the most fertile soil, and then, packages them in soft containers (no wooden crates) to insure "field" juiciness.

You will not find these succulent beauties at your supermarket; Mila grows the finest and, therefore, expects top dollar; trying to dicker with him on price is an invitation to never do business again (one unnamed buyer was "shut-out" for seven years before he was back in Mila's good graces).
