Bell Peppers
Bell Peppers
Mon, Feb 9th, 2026
Dear Ole Tyme Customers:
Bell pepper supplies in the Eastern U.S. are tightening following freeze damage in Florida, particularly impacting green peppers. Reduced yields and increased off-grade product are limiting availability and driving prices upward. Quality may vary in the coming weeks.
Western Mexico production is increasing, with more volume crossing through Nogales, helping to offset some of the shortfall in the East.
Green Bell Peppers
Florida’s freeze losses have significantly reduced yields this spring, with more off-grade fruit in the market. Rising volumes from Western Mexico are helping to partially bridge the supply gap. However, prices are expected to continue increasing over the next several weeks as demand strengthens.
Red Bell Peppers
Red bell supply is heavily dependent on Mexico. Culiacán is producing moderate volumes with good quality, and yields are expected to improve. Central Mexico crossings remain steady but limited, while Florida availability is minimal. The market is expected to remain firm to elevated in the short term.
