Artisan Blend, Artisan Romaine and Sweet Gems
Artisan Blend, Artisan Romaine and Sweet Gems
Tues, Aug 25th, 2026
Dear Ole Tyme Customers:
Increased disease pressure throughout the Salinas Valley continues to impact nearly all leaf items, including Tanimura & Antle’s Artisan Blend, Artisan Romaine, and Sweet Gems. Their team is seeing an increase in INSV, but Sclerotinia (Sclero) appears to be the primary factor driving yield reductions at this time. Tanimura & Antle continues to work diligently to manage harvests and shift fields and acres where possible. However, these specialty leaf items have fewer planted acres and less flexibility compared to larger programs such as Iceberg and Romaine, making it more challenging to offset field-level losses.
Looking ahead, next week is expected to be similar to this week from a volume standpoint, but warmer temperatures could further exacerbate disease and field-level challenges. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and keep you updated as conditions develop.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your Sales Representative.
Thanks,
Ole Tyme Produce
