Dear Ole Tyme Customers:
Artichoke Market Update
- Artichoke supplies are expected to remain light for the next 3–4 weeks, with this week and next
presenting the most significant supply challenges. While availability remains limited in the near term,
there are early signs of improvement, and we are beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel as we
move into weeks three and four.
- The current shortage is primarily the result of a production gap that developed across many crops
during March and April. Because artichokes are a slower-growing commodity, the effects of those
earlier weather patterns are only now being felt. Unseasonably warm temperatures during late winter
and early spring accelerated crop development and pulled production forward, followed by a return to
cooler weather that slowed growth and created the supply gap we are experiencing today.
- Supplies are expected to gradually improve as we move through June, but availability will remain
below normal in the short term.

Thanks,
