Asparagus

Dear Ole Tyme Customers:
Mexican asparagus supplies remain extremely limited across the West Coast and much of the country, with strong demand, high FOB pricing, and ongoing quality issues caused by heat in Southern Baja and rain in Central Mexico. While Northern Baja production will begin in the coming weeks to help bridge the seasonal transition, overall supplies and quality are expected to remain below normal through July, August, and September.
Peruvian asparagus production continues in both the North and South, with most volume now coming from the northern growing regions, where warmer-than-normal winter weather is reducing yields, quality, and sizing. While boat arrivals have increased slightly, many growers are shipping product to higher-paying export markets, keeping U.S. supplies tight, and quality concerns are expected to continue through the transition back to southern production this fall.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your Sales Representative.
Thanks,
Ole Tyme Produce
