Dear Ole Tyme Customers:

Broccolini supplies have tightened significantly due to the prolonged heat experienced in the Salinas Valley. High temperatures have impacted multiple varieties differently, resulting in reduced yields and limited harvestable volume.

Some varieties have experienced stunted growth, preventing the product from reaching normal size, while others are showing premature bolting and flowering, making them unsuitable for harvest. Additionally, growers are reporting increased instances of dead buds, where individual florets turn brown or black, further reducing pack-outs and overall field yields.

With many fields producing lighter-than-normal volume, supplies are expected to remain limited over the near term. Customers should anticipate elevated markets and potential order restrictions as growers work through the reduced availability.
