Brussels Sprouts Supply Update

Brussels Sprouts Supply Update

Fri, Aug 28th, 2026

Dear Ole Tyme Customers:

We are seeing tighter Brussels Sprout supplies as increased Diamondback Moth pressure is causing shorter yields throughout the industry. The larvae feed aggressively on the leaves, creating a characteristic “windowing” effect where the leaf tissue is eaten but the outer layer remains intact, giving the leaves a caterpillar-eaten appearance.

While the feeding damage does not necessarily stop the plant from growing, it significantly damages the foliage and reduces the amount of marketable product available. Growers are working diligently to manage the pest, but the elevated pressure is expected to keep supplies challenging in the near term.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your Sales Representative.

Thanks,
