Dear Ole Tyme Customers:

Romaine and Romaine Hearts remain in an extremely tight supply situation as the industry continues to battle reduced yields, disease pressure, and challenging growing conditions in the Salinas Valley. Cooler temperatures have slowed growth and significantly impacted production, while earlier warm winter weather caused fields to come on ahead of schedule, creating ongoing supply gaps.

Industry supplies are expected to run at approximately 50% of normal volumes this week and into next week, with light availability anticipated over the next two weeks. Demand remains very strong and continues to outpace supply, driving markets steadily higher across all romaine items, including processed romaine.

In addition to standard romaine and romaine hearts, Petite Romaine and RomaCrunch supplies will also remain limited due to the same disease and timing pressures in the field.
