Dear Ole Tyme Customers:
Tomato supply remains very tight, with Florida experiencing the most severe shortages this coming week, especially for round tomatoes. Very limited improvement is expected early in the week, with gradual relief beginning late next weekend as more fruit exits ripe rooms. Rounds will be the most difficult to source, while Roma and snacking tomatoes should see slow, incremental improvement. Substitutions (romas for rounds) will be necessary at times, and supply and quality will remain inconsistent in the near term.
In Mexico, grape and round tomatoes will also be in short supply next week, forcing size substitutions or shifts to romas. Roma availability will remain volatile due to increased demand caused by round shortages. Some new harvesting in Baja and Jalisco is expected within 10 days, but meaningful volume won’t arrive until late April. Progress depends heavily on consistent border crossings, with conditions expected to slowly improve over the next 10–14 days.
Overall, the market is expected to gradually improve later this month as late spring/early summer production begins, with more consistent supply anticipated by early to mid-May.

Thanks,
