Dear Ole Tyme Customers:

Florida tomato production is declining due to recent cold weather, tightening supplies and increasing demand for Mexican-grown tomatoes, which is driving prices higher.

  • Rounds: Florida cold is slowing growth and reducing availability. Larger sizes (4×5, 5×5) are most available, while 5×6 sizes are especially tight.
  • Romas: Cold conditions are limiting Florida volume and delaying Mexico’s peak production. Larger sizes are most abundant with good quality.
  • Grape & Cherry: Low temperatures have reduced Florida production, and Central Mexico supplies are expected to remain limited through January.

Outlook: Higher markets are expected over the next two weeks, with limited supply and strong eastern demand shifting to the Nogales and McAllen regions.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your Sales Representative.

Thanks,
