Dear Ole Tyme Customers:
STRAWBERRIES
- Salinas & Watsonville: As we head into early August, demand remains soft. Most shippers are closely managing their volumes, and some are still offering volume deals to keep product moving. Overall quality remains strong, though occasional issues such as mildew and fully red, overripe fruit are being reported in a few lots.
- Santa Maria: New crop, first-pick fruit is becoming more available. These initial harvests are showing some quality challenges, including checkerboarding, white shoulders, and misshapen berries. Both quality and volume are expected to improve steadily week by week.
BLUEBERRIES
The Pacific Northwest is currently at peak production. Steady volumes of New Jersey-grown fruit are also available, and Michigan's season is ramping up. Expect increasing availability in the coming weeks as growing areas recover from early July’s heat and rain events.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your Sales Representative.
Thanks,
