Dear Ole Tyme Customers:
Strawberries:
The market remains unsettled following Valentine’s Day as growers work to stabilize pricing amid weather challenges and shifting supply.
- California (Santa Maria/Oxnard): Heavy rainfall is causing harvest disruptions and expected yield losses, with limited field access over the next week.
- Central Mexico (CEMEX): Production is seasonally declining heading into March, with fewer crossings into Texas. Some quality concerns are emerging due to colder weather and plant disease.
- Baja Mexico: Production is expected to increase in the coming weeks, though recent weather has caused minor impacts.
- Florida: Supplies are increasing as production rebounds, while demand is tapering post-holiday.
Blueberries:
Supplies remain tight from Central Mexico, Chile, and California due to cold weather and lighter production. Demand currently exceeds supply, and these conditions are expected to continue through the end of February.
Blackberries:
Colder weather has negatively affected yields, leading to reduced availability.
Raspberries:
Production from Baja and Central Mexico is lighter than normal, resulting in tightening supplies and upward market pressure.

Thanks,
Ole Tyme Produce
