Cantaloupes and Honeydews Demand Exceeds Supplies

Dear Ole Tyme Customers:

Cantaloupes and Honeydews are still gapping in certain regions with limited availability from Central California. There are some market opportunities available, but the fields are not ready due to weather and other growing conditions. This is expected to continue until the week of 7/12/2026 when new fields will come on board.

Contracts are available for the upcoming Summer Melon Season and are highly recommended.

Honeydews are in Extreme Demand Exceeds Supplies.
Extreme Demand exceeding supply - all sizes are impacted
Fields are peaking on larger sizes and smaller sizes are limited.
Contracts will take priority, and some retailers/processors are starting early.
Very limited open market business will be available
Flexibility of sizing may be necessary at the time of loading.
The market is expected to be elevated until the transition to Westside / Central California.
Growers are expected to have full supplies the week of 7/12/2026 due to weather.
Fall Melons out of Yuma may experience similar conditions to end 2026.
