Dear Ole Tyme Customers:
UPDATE: California Oranges & Lemons
Oranges (Valencia):
Valencia oranges are currently peaking on 113ct/138ct sizes and will size up as the season progresses. Due to warm weather, some regreening is occurring, requiring 24–48 hours of gassing for color. Quality is fair with some early decay and scarring—typical for this time of year. Brix levels are around 13, and the fruit is tasting great. Shippers continue to cull compromised fruit.
Lemons:
Markets are strengthening as District 2 (Ventura/Oxnard) is the sole producing region. Smaller sizes (165ct and down) remain extremely tight. The crop is heavy on Choice grade with limited Fancy grade due to growing conditions. Quality issues like softer fruit, scarring, and early decay are expected for the season. Demand is strong, and import volumes are lighter, driving elevated pricing.
Ordering Note:
Same-day/next-day orders are subject to availability. Please plan ahead with 3–4 day lead times.
