Dear Ole Tyme Customers:
There has been an extreme loss of yields due to the increased temperatures we experienced followed by rain in early April, we are seeing very short supplies. This earlier weather caused the long-term effects we are dealing with now. Santa Maria peak production should have started last week. The expected peak will not happen due to crop loss in that area. Growers are reporting that they are only receiving 65% of what was initially forecasted. Salinas and Watsonville are experiencing the same problems. Cooler weather in all areas has also played a role in causing this current shortage, as plantings are not producing as expected.
- We are currently in an extreme demand-exceeds-supply situation out of all districts.
- We expect fill rates and orders being pushed forward going into the weekend
- This situation will continue into next week.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your Sales Representative.
Thanks,
Ole Tyme Produce
